History
MELCHERS has engaged in international import and export activities since they were founded in Bremen, Germany in 1806. Foreign trade concentrated on North and Central America during the first 60 years, but gradually shifted to the Far East with the establishment of "Melchers & Co." Hong Kong, in 1866 and was expanded with the establishment of a branch office in Shanghai in 1877.
In 1968 C. Melchers and Ferrostaal AG Essen (a member of the MAN group of companies) founded Melchers-Ferrostaal to concentrate on the technical supply of machinery, technical materials and spare parts to China, Vietnam and North Korea.
After nearly 30 years of successful co-operation C. Melchers took over Ferrostaal’s 50% share in 1996 and the company was re-named MELCHERS TECHEXPORT GMBH in 1997.
In 2002 the other technical export departments of C. Melchers were integrated into MELCHERS TECHEXPORT GMBH in order to extend the technical export activities to all Asian countries.

The head-office of MELCHERS TECHEXPORT GMBH is in Bremen/Germany where dedicated and qualified sales personnel satisfy the requirements of customers and suppliers alike.
